Indy RV Expo kicks off its final weekend.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Despite snow still on the ground and more in the forecast, Indiana’s largest RV show offers a chance to look ahead to the spring. The Indy RV Expo entered its final weekend at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Friday.

In contrast to typical camping shows that are created by a production company, this expo is organized and managed directly by the dealers themselves.

In the West Pavilion, six dealers occupy a spacious area of 120,000 square feet, showcasing a wide variety of RVs in numerous models and sizes.

Micheal Abrams, a sales consultant at Walnut Ridge Family RV Sales, says this time of the year is the perfect time to purchase a camper.

Abrams remarked, “This is an excellent chance to attend and benefit from some fantastic pricing at the show. Many people don’t recognize that now is the perfect moment to make the most of available inventory—secure your camper ahead of the camping season so you can maximize your time outdoors.”

According to the RV Industry Association, in 2023, Indiana accounted for nearly 84% of RV production.

Abrams notes that the dealers take great pride in contributing to an industry that significantly impacts the state’s economy. He also mentions that trade shows and expos are crucial for their business.

Abrams remarked, “This event serves as a great kick-off for all the dealers in our region as we begin the year. With January being a chilly month, the show helps generate enthusiasm for the upcoming camping season. It simplifies the process for everyone involved.”

Representatives from various campgrounds will be present to discuss potential trips for this spring. Additionally, some dealers will showcase and sell accessories and parts.

Abrams mentions that the Indy RV Expo has something to offer for everyone.

“Whether it's drivable units, tow-behinds, or fifth wheels, we have a wide range,” Abrams remarked. “An SUV can handle towing, but for larger models, you might require a semi-truck.”

The show runs through Sunday. Tickets are $10 online or $12 at the door. Children 16 and under get in for free.
