The latest telehandlers come equipped with standard rearview cameras that activate when reversing or can be continuously displayed on a new full-color LCD screen.

Caterpillar is bringing four new telehandlers – the TH0642, TH0842, TH1055 and TH1255 – to make their debut at this year’s World of Concrete trade show in Las Vegas.

The new lineup of TH series telehandlers will replace Caterpillar’s previous TL models, which first debuted in 2007 and were manufactured by JLG. The new models range from 6,000 pounds of capacity and 42 feet of lift height on the TH0642 to 12,000 pounds and 55 feet of lift height on the TH1255.

Beneath the surface, this updated series is equipped with a 74-horsepower turbocharged and aftercooled Cat C3.6TA engine, complying with EPA Tier 4 Final emissions standards. Additionally, these engines come with zero-service diesel particulate filters and eliminate the need for diesel exhaust fluid.

An enhanced 115-horsepower engine option is now offered for the TH0842, TH1055, and TH1255 models, utilizing selective catalytic reduction technology to comply with emissions regulations.

Contractors have the option to select from open, heated enclosed, or enclosed stations with both heating and air conditioning. This latest generation features standard tilt steering columns and ergonomically designed control layouts. Additionally, operators will enjoy a pilot-controlled joystick that allows for multi-function capabilities, along with standard auxiliary hydraulics compatible with hydraulic Cat attachments.

There are two available options for the coupler interface: the IT and the Standard TH. The Standard TH is designed to be more compact and lightweight, offering better fork visibility and increased load capacity when used with an extended boom.

To enhance safety, Cat's latest telehandlers come equipped with standard rearview cameras that activate when the machine is in reverse, or they can be set to remain on continuously via a new color LCD display. This same display features a multi-operator system that allows for security codes for as many as 50 operators, providing an added layer of protection against equipment theft.

Contractors will receive an operator-presence seat switch designed to prevent unintentional machine usage. This feature activates the parking brake and deactivates drive and hydraulic functions when the operator exits the cab. Additionally, a configurable engine idle shutdown is now included as a standard option.
