A food truck park could be on the way to Fort Myers Beach, but right now, its future seems uncertain.
On Thursday, the town's planning agency convened for a discussion where two votes resulted in a tie of 3 to 3, leading to a deadlock regarding the food truck park proposal. This matter will be revisited in the upcoming meeting.
If given the green light, the suggested food truck park will be located at 2500 Estero Blvd.
Currently, the areas are merely cordoned off sand, but the town of Fort Myers Beach has held discussions regarding the initial proposal for a food truck park.

The lot owners live on Fort Myers Beach and they say their idea was for the park to have a family-friendly atmosphere.
Residents along the shoreline are concerned about the increasing traffic and commercial encroachment in their community.
Debbie Hotka, the lot owner, expressed, “Our goal is to create a family-friendly environment since our focus is on the little ones. We envision the field as a safe space for families, not a venue for late-night parties.”
"Right now, the most I can hope for is to save both the developer and ourselves from an expensive battle by terminating this project immediately, or at the very least, suggesting a negative stance on it," stated a resident of Fort Myers Beach during the public comment session.
Ultimately, following a series of tied votes, the local planning agency opted to postpone the discussion, with plans to revisit the topic in the upcoming meeting.
The upcoming meeting is scheduled for February 11 at 9:00 AM.
