Fortnite Festival is set to launch Season 7 on January 14, and Epic Games has revealed that the virtual pop star Hatsune Miku will be taking center stage. As someone who has largely steered clear of the Fortnite phenomenon, I reluctantly confess that this might just be the irresistible draw that pulls me in, much like the alluring call of a siren. It seems inevitable that I would eventually fall under its spell.
Throughout the season, players can earn a variety of Hatsune Miku-themed rewards by participating in the Music Pass. These include a special Miku outfit, unique instruments, and several Jam Tracks. However, certain rewards are exclusive to the premium paid pass. If you've already obtained this pass, you'll instantly receive the Neko Hatsune Miku outfit as a reward. Additionally, you can progress towards unlocking the Brite Hatsune Miku Style skin and the M@GICAL☆CURE! LOVE ♥ SHOT! Jam Track, which can be accessed as you approach the end of the pass.
The combination of skins and matching instruments available for the stage makes the 1,400 V-Bucks price tag feel justifiable, even if I hate to say it. The collaboration truly delivers, making any additional features feel like a delightful extra. On top of that, each instrument is adorned with a charming leek accessory that I absolutely love.
If you're not keen on paying the pass fee right away, don't worry—it's likely that the rewards will eventually be offered in the shop at a later time. I'm just grateful that if I miss out on the chance to dominate at the Fortnite Festival now, I'll still have the opportunity to indulge my Miku obsession in the future. Several Hatsune Miku rewards will also be accessible in the shop, just in case the pass rewards don’t meet your expectations. Over the course of the season, you can look forward to obtaining the following items:
- Hatsune Miku Outfit
- Pack-sune Miku Back Bling
- Miku Live Emote
- Miku Miku Beam Emote
- Miku Light Contrail
- Hatsune’s Mic-u
- Miku’s Beat Drums
- “Miku” Jam Track by Anamanaguchi, Hatsune Miku
However, Hatsune Miku isn't the sole highlight of the season; there are also exciting new features introduced in version 33.20. Four fresh battle stage modes are being added, providing an extra layer of challenge to hone your skills with specific instruments. The new game modes—Lead Only, Drums Only, Vocals Only, and Bass Only—are crafted to allow you to compete against others on a more level playing field, without the backing of a full band. These modes can also serve as an excellent practice opportunity if you're only comfortable with a few instruments.
The Fortnite Festival Season 7 is set to wrap up on April 8, giving you ample opportunity to hone your skills and master those Hatsune Miku Jam Tracks while collecting all the rewards available on the Music Pass. I’m fully prepared to embrace the idea that this could be the catalyst that draws me deeper into the Fortnite Festival experience. My only concern is that I might falter the moment I take the stage and end up feeling too self-conscious to play again, especially after investing so much in adorable skins.
