It has officially been a decade since Far Cry 4 was first released but to everybody’s surprise, Ubisoft is back with a major update for the iconic first-person shooter.
Released back in 2014 as the fourth main instalment in the Far Cry series, Far Cry 4 is one of the highest rated in the franchise, mainly in part due to Troy Baker’s role as villain Pagan Min.

"Nestled within the majestic Himalayas is Kyrat, a nation rich in heritage and conflict," states the official summary.
"You are Ajay Ghale, on a journey to Kyrat to honor your mother's last request. However, you quickly become embroiled in a civil conflict aimed at toppling the tyrannical rule of dictator Pagan Min."
However, with many more instalments to arrive later on, Far Cry 4 gradually got lost to the sands of time.
That is up to this point.
Ubisoft has finally offered a major upgrade to Far Cry 4 fans by adding achievements to Steam in an attempt to gradually update its older games on the PC storefront.
After the news that all of Ubisoft’s upcoming titles will also be added to Steam on day one, rather than just Ubisoft Connect, Far Cry 4 is the latest game to have achievements added years on from release.
This follows older series such as Assassin’s Creed and Ghost Recon who recently received the same treatment.
For the first time, Far Cry 4 now has 57 Steam achievements to earn which will give players the perfect opportunity to revisit the 2014 title.
Within its expansive open-world environment, these accomplishments will include a variety of random events, collectibles, and opportunities that, as any Far Cry enthusiast is aware, play a significant role in the series.
Fortunately, if you've already obtained the achievements through Ubisoft Connect, they will automatically be unlocked on Steam when you play the game on that platform.
Additionally, Ubisoft has also revealed that it will be adding achievements to Far Cry 3 but we are none the wiser on a specific date.
