BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A new caretaker has been appointed for the Rockland Branch Railroad.
The Maine Department of Transportation has chosen Maine Switching Services, located in Unity, to assume responsibility for the maintenance of the railroad.
MSS has announced plans to restart freight services for its current rail customers this spring, while also introducing scenic trail rides during the fall season.
Throughout this period, the DOT will persist in assessing the critical infrastructure requirements for bridges along the route.
